Karen
I cannot imagine . My 3 months laid up and the residule getting OVER it has been realy hard. I think I am on way way to healing Due to a very sympathetic MD .That will give me pain meds if I need it. My ortho kept telling me to feel the pain 2 weeks after the trimaaleor fracture. I was casted for 10 weeks Went back to teaching when school started . couldn't have made it all day on my feet without a sympathetic MD. My OS was no help

Hey all

My names Adam im 20 years old and i broke my ankle September 24th and had surgery the 29th
-I have a plate and 6 screws due to a double break/dislocation/ligament tear. I am wondering if the ligament damage is long term. I am an avid snowboarder and am getting more mad about the situation the more it snows. I was living in Bend Oregon at the time, attending college and living an awesome life, unfortunatley i had to move back home until i can walk again. I hate not knowing when ill be back to normal. I am enrolled in PT twice a week, but cant seem to get past a certain point. Why wont my ankle stretch, it seems stuck in the same spot each week, is this normal? Im trying to do as much as possible to get this ankle stonger so i can ride, any tips on how to speed up the process?

Best friend came home to visit. Went out drinking. I was on fire. Next thing I know a friend (240lbs, 6'4",solid) fell on me(110lbs soaking wet, 5'8"). When he got up he stepped on my medial malleolus. It rotated 180degrees flipped & went up my leg. What a mouthful. Surgery two days later. One pin. Fiberglass cast for three weeks. No weightbearing. & yes I've lost weight.
Now it's been a month with boot. Physio for three weeks now & I get around the house without the sticks. Slowly. Next xray is in two weeks. So far so good physically. Mentally is a whole other story. All I want to know and it is very silly to you but not to me... Will I be able to strut in my four inch heels by new years????
I love my shoes!!! The night before this I told the guy who snapped me that I had never broken/sprained anything. That's when the timer went off.... Almost to the hour the next night I had a cankle:(...now all I say is I've never won the lottery... If anyone can answer my need for sexy high heels let me know.

Oh, no, Karen - how unfair. On the other hand, you don't want a OS "working" on you when he is tired - that's the other way to look at it. But I feel for you because I know how the anxiety of waiting affects us. Try to hang in there the best you can. Keep posting 'cause we care.
